Privacy Policy

Van Beek Tools sells digital tools and templates for DaVinci Resolve. For anything in this policy, contact us at support@vanbeek.tools, or by post at Box 296, Coalhurst, Alberta T0L 0V0, Canada.

• Account details — your name, email address, and password (stored only as a cryptographic hash, never in readable form). Optionally a phone number and billing name, company, and address if you enter them.
• Purchases — what you bought, when, the amount, and the download and licence entitlements it granted you.
• Payment details— handled entirely by our payment processor. Card numbers never reach our servers and we cannot see them. We store only the processor’s reference, the amount, and the status.
• Support messages — anything you send us, and our replies, so we can keep track of the conversation.
• Reviews — if you leave one, the rating and text, plus any name or occupation you choose to show. These are published only if you consent to public display.
• Usage analytics — page views and events, with the referring site, any campaign tags in the link (utm_source and similar), your approximate country, device type, and browser. Your IP address is hashed before it is stored; we never keep the raw address.
• Email engagement— whether a message we sent was delivered, opened, or had a link clicked, plus bounces and spam complaints, so we can stop mailing addresses that don’t want it and keep our sending reputation healthy.

We use first-party cookies only. There are no third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

• yb_analytics_visitor and yb_analytics_session — random identifiers that let us count visitors and sessions without identifying you personally.
• yb_ref — records that you arrived through an affiliate link, so the referrer is credited if you buy.
• A session cookie that keeps you signed in, and your cart contents.

We only send marketing email to people who asked for it. You opt in explicitly — nothing about buying a product subscribes you — and you can leave at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message, the one-click unsubscribe your mail app may show, or your account preferences. Unsubscribing is permanent unless you opt back in yourself.

Transactional email is separate: receipts, download links, password resets, and replies to your support messages are sent because you asked for them or bought something, and are not promotional.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that run the store:

• Stripe — payment processing, including PayPal where offered.
• Amazon Web Services — sending email (SES) and storing product files and media (S3).
• Vercel — hosting the site.
• Our database provider — storing accounts, orders, and content.

Each of these acts on our instructions. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Account and order records are kept while your account is open and afterwards for as long as we need them for tax and accounting purposes. Analytics records are kept in aggregate. Suppressed email addresses are kept indefinitely and deliberately, because that list is what stops us contacting someone who asked us not to.

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@vanbeek.tools and we will action it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to processing or to complain to your data protection authority.

Deleting your account does not withdraw a purchase — we keep the minimum order record the law requires — and it does not remove you from the suppression list, which exists to protect you.

This site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be announced by email to subscribers.
